Brandon Kemp broadly represents employers and management in labor and employment disputes. The cornerstone of his practice is unfair competition and trade-secret litigation and counseling, and he actively represents employers and management in these matters across the country. His practice also includes wage-and-hour, employment-discrimination, and wrongful termination litigation in state and federal agencies and courts. Brandon also maintains a complementary commercial litigation practice to meet the needs of the employers he represents. Before joining Ogletree Deakins, Brandon practiced in the litigation and corporate and securities groups with a national law firm based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Beyond litigation, Brandon counsels employers in all aspects of employment policies, best practices, and legal and regulatory compliance. He frequently represents employers through all phases of regulatory investigations, audits, and proceedings before agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the state and federal departments of labor, the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission, and various other state and federal agencies. Brandon also represents public and private companies in executive compensation and severance matters.
Brandon often speaks and writes on various issues facing employers and business owners. Among other projects, he is one of the principal authors of the Oklahoma sections of the annual Chambers Global Practice Guide: USA Regional Employment. He also contributes to the firm’s Oklahoma Employer Desk Reference.
While in law school, Brandon was an editor of the Oklahoma Law Review, and was the winner of the journal’s 2012 writing competition. In 2013, he also published a comment in the journal. Brandon was a member of the University of Oklahoma’s national moot court team, and he served as a research assistant for multiple professors. Brandon has served as a judicial extern at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, assisting in oil and gas, electricity ratemaking, and telecommunications cases. Brandon was a member of Phi Delta Phi, and was named to the dean’s list each semester of law school.
