I am so happy to hear that several of you have been able to get or schedule your COVID-19 vaccine! It appears that getting signed up for an appointment takes a lot of patience and tenacity, but I’m hearing that more of you are getting your slot every day. (Photo by Daniel Schludi on Unsplash)
Thank you to Connie Eckstein for organizing the virtual happy hour last week. It was a fun and educational hour. We learned a lot about the history of the cocktail and how the same recipe can be altered to create many different libations.
Our program on Tuesday will be featuring our own Jonathon Winders. Earlier this Rotary year, Jonathon told us how the pandemic has affected the funeral business; but this week’s program will be more of a cameo where we learn more about Jonathon the person and what his life is like when he is not at work.
Jonathon attended Northeast Academy for Health Science and Engineering, a public school designed to attract students toward early career education. While at Northeast, Jonathon was active in the health science department which provided a daily program that sought a hands-on approach to the health professions.
In December 2009, Jonathon graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma, majoring in funeral service.
Jonathon is married to Lindsay Winders. (This photo is from a few years ago!) You may have seen their two beautiful daughters, Madilyn and Kaylee on our Zoom meetings.
Jonathon will be sharing his hobbies which include camping, hunting, biking, four wheeling, off-roading, practicing guitar with his friends, working on his classic car, brushing up on his drawing, and hanging out with his dad.
Jonathon is an active member of the Sooner Rotary and loves volunteering on projects through Rotary. He also seems to have an obsession with a seafood restaurant called “The Catch."
Thank you to everyone who continues to meet with us via Zoom or who watches the recorded meetings on YouTube.
Look for the Zoom link in your email--I look forward seeing everyone on Tuesday!
