We had our highest total to date for an online meeting--47 participants!

Great presentation by JT Johnson who joined us from the Netherlands where he now lives and works.

Jane called our April 28 online meeting to order. Cliff Thomas led us in singing "Oh What a Beautiful Morning." It's a challenge to herd singing cats!

This is World Immunization Week. Jane encouraged everyone to donate to the Rotary International Foundation. She noted how thankful she is for the immunizations we have and said many Rotarians are using this time to share stories about friends and family who contracted polio in the past. Rotary's focus to rid the world of polio continues. However, as we are all painfully aware, once the COVID-19 vaccine or vaccines are proven it will take a long time to get folks immunized on a global scale.

We voted to approve our new dues structure to allow for an Associate Membership for members early in their career and a discounted rate for those experiencing financial hardship. Members were advised to contact Jane if they could benefit from these discounted dues at this time.

Sooner Rotarian JT Johnson provided the program this week. He is seven hours ahead of us in Utrecht, Netherlands where he is working for DTN for the next couple of years. He and his wife Lori and daughter Adalee moved last summer and live in Almere, Netherlands. They are adjusting to life in a new culture--enjoying soccer game after-game beer rituals, roasted cashews, public transportation, and fresh flowers. But missing Mexican food!

They've checked off a few bucket list items like visiting the UK, Brussels and Barcelona, viewing the Northern Lights and train travel in the Swiss Alps--some of which they got to enjoy with their two sons who visited from the US over the 2019 Christmas holiday.

We thank JT for sharing his adventures with us and representing true Oklahoma friendship and kindness with his new friends, neighbors and coworkers. He also is sharing information about our club with members of the Rotary-Utrecht International Club with whom he has met three times. Rotary Connects the World!
